Cakes by Mary was created in 1996 by Mary King to satisfy her need to create beautiful cakes, especially wedding cakes. She was immediately successful. Her business has grown from that first year doing 6 weddings, 3 corporate accounts (a cake each month), and 75 birthday/anniversary cakes to the current levels (2001) of 25 wedding cakes, 10 corporate accounts, and countless birthday/special occasion cakes.
